Purple red in the glass. Dark, dense and spicey, with broodiing bouquets of currant and chocolate, cola, mint and menthol. Aromas that are clean and intense, there is freshly ground pepper, subdued vanilla oak, cherries and plum. The palate shows good depth and structure, sufficiently generous with lightly peppery hints, fruit driven and pleasingly dry, expressions of unsweetened dark chocolate, sour cherry and currant. An ageless wine with smiling tannins and a satisfyingly clean finish. "There are many other lovely expressions of Coonawarra.
